What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program, combining Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics and metabolic conditioning, that is designed to improve cardiovascular/respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, coordination, and accuracy. Each workout is intended to challenge you, through a variety of high-intensity movements that work different muscle groups, and increase your overall functional strength and cardiovascular conditioning. Often used as a training regime for many professional athletes and military personnel, it has become a sport in its own right, growing exponentially in popularity since it first began in 2000, with over 15,000 affiliate gyms worldwide.
